    The Solidarity Committee of the Capital District invites you to attend the ANNUAL LABOR DAY Picnic & Celebration!

    Monday, September 2, 2019 from Noon - 4:30pm at Cook Park in Colonie

    It's a potluck picnic, so please bring a dish to pass, an entree, salad or dessert. 

    Hamburgers,  hot dogs, (vegetarian also available) & soft drinks provided.

    This is a "zero waste" event, please bring reusable/recyclable cups, containers, utensils, etc.  If possible bring your own place setting of plates, bowls & cups or glasses.  We expect this will take a few events to master but eventually we will make this a zero-waste event.  Thanks!

    During the day there will also be some short speeches and awards* will be given.

    Also there will be. music, including the Solidarity Singers, and a Silent Auction with many wonderful items

    * This year there are 4 awards and 6 awardees:

    1. Doug Bullock, Legislator of the Decade
    2. Willie Terry, Labor Media award
    3. Blu Carreker, Workers Rights Advocate
    4. Karen Beetle, Sarah Rogerson & Carrie Kuehl, Immigration Advocate award

    This year's theme is: UNITED WE WIN!

    Let's not forget the reason for the holiday - the celebration of the vital contributions of working women and men.

    Directions:  In the Village  of Colonie, take Lincoln Avenue, off Central Ave., for about a mile, then take a left on Shambrook Parkway,  look for the Solidarity Committee pavilion.
